July has certainly had more of a Summer’s feel to it compared to a very wet June. With the kids breaking up later in the month all hands have been on deck to bring a new feel to our outdoor areas to make use of the sunshine and the long lazy (for kids that is) days.
Our play area and pets corner have had a slight facelift which we’re really pleased with. As a tired parent with tireless kids, I know the importance of keeping them occupied meanwhile grabbing a moment to sit down and refuel myself! You can now do exactly that as we are serving our menu in our new seating area next to the play area amongst trees and Big Green Eggs! Don’t worry, if you’re after a quieter experience our cafe garden is still in full flow.
We are also putting the finishing touches to the farm shop layout after a bit of an overhaul. With some new fridges and some new displays, we hope to have managed to make the shopping experience a bit more spacious and enjoyable. It was some feedback we’ve always been trying to solve and we hope you’ll agree with us that much has improved!
Over the last few day’s the wonderful summer weather has signalled the start of haymaking in the fields. They say you need a good week of sunshine to make good hay, a rarity in this country by normal standards. But we have had just that and clouds of dust have been rolling through the fields as the tractors are out constantly turning the grass before raking up and baling the hay to tick off another summer job ready to pay dividends in the winter.
Enjoy the Summer holidays!
All the best
Tom
